I made similar remarks in my contribution to this article from early 2012. This seems like a logical progression that simply hasn’t taken shape. In fact, it’s very disappointing how much of the discontent expressed in that piece hasn’t been addressed at all.
Stagnation of Apple’s software offerings is a growing concern.
