Sony Says Playstation 4 HDMI Will Not Have HDCP
The PlayStation 3 used HDCP copy protection over an HDMI connection, forcing users looking to record in-game content to use analogue cables such as component.
Sony announced that its next-generation console will allow game capture over HDMI during a keynote speech at the Tokyo Game Show 2013 overnight.
The Playstation 4 is, in every way, an embodiment of a ‘PS3S’ (to use an iPhone analogy). Everything that was bad about the first one has been rectified. Sony has gone for refinement whereas Microsoft has followed a more revolutionary path, but backtracked significantly.
