Apple appears to be extending the free extra 20GB of iCloud storage for former MobileMe subscribers from now until 2050. The 20GB normally costs $40 per year, but Apple had previously offered paid MobileMe users the extra space for free until September 30 in order to encourage users to switch. Instead of expiring Sunday night, however, users noticed that Apple appears to have extended the deadline for another 38 years, according to TUAW.
Frankly, the free plan should be 25GB. 5GB just isn’t practical for anybody with more than one device.1
1 An alternative: 5GB (preferably more) per device.
